Giant Loop Gear: Practice Layering With The New Giant Loop Tech-Tee Long Sleeve Shirt As Functional Base Layer

By | Giant Loop Gear | No Comments

We pulled a page from the outdoor sports play book when we chose the new long-sleeve Giant Loop Tech-Tee shirt. The layering system is well know among the gravity and human powered riders. With base layer against the body giving vapor movement, insulation for trapping warmth in the second layer and, for the final layer, a vented or breathable outer shell to manage the environmental conditions. Our new Tech-Tee offers the functional benefits of a base layer, such as reduced chafing from gear, wicking action and quick drying, that a motorcycle rider would appreciate.

While traveling in Norway last month, Harold wore his new Giant Loop Tech-Tee under his gear for his base layer. He also brought one for his moto-host, Elving Solli, to try. Elving was surprised the GL Tech-Tee worked so well under his riding gear and commented that he hadn’t tried a technical base layer while motorcycling, only long-johns. He loved how smooth the material was and enjoyed its quick drying nature.

Tolga writes,
“Yesterday I rode from Ufa to Chelyabinsk in heavy rain with lots of trucks on the narrow roads. My Klim gear was perfect, they did not let any drop of water, same goes for the boots (Sidi Adventure) my feet was also dry. Somewhere on the road a big truck started sliding and he managed to block the way with his trailer. I was not able to pass with my bike, so I decided to find an alternative route to the main road.”

Got a cool pic of Vic while he was in Death Valley riding his Suzuki DRZ400 with a Great Basin Saddlebag. Thanks for the pic and story.

He said, “Purchased your saddle bag at the BMW rally in Salem last summer. Just finished a four day 430 mile off road loop through Death Valley. Bag is great and stayed firmly attached all through the rough stuff. Wish I could say the same thing for me. Fitment is great and the others on the ride will be purchasing them before our next adventure. Regards, Vic.”
